Chandragiri Fort and River : This fort and River are just 4kms. from Bekal. One among the chain of Forts built by Shivappa Naik of Bedanore, the Chandragiri Fort offers a breathtaking view of the convergence of the river and the Arabian Sea, The sand banks separating the two and is a vantage point to watch the sunset.

Malik Deenar Masjid: Malik Deenar Mosque Kasaragod acquired over the years considerable importance as a centre of Islam on the west coast. The historic Malik Deenar Juma Masjid built in the typical Kerala style is believed to have been founded by Malik Ibin Deenar. Bekal Fort: This fort is 14kms from the south of Kasargod on the national highway. The fort is 300 year old and is one of the largest and best preserved forts in Kerala. This imposing circular structure of laterite rises 130ft. above sea level and stands on a 35- acre headland that runs in the Arabian Sea. 1 kms. from Bekal For there is a beach named as Bekal Beach this beach offers a spectacular view of the fort and has ample facilities for recreation and relaxation.

Kappil Beach: This Beach is just 2kms. from Bekal Fort. The Kodi Cliff nearby offers a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea 2kms. away from the pulikunnam Temple.

Tejaswini-Valiyaparamba Backwaters: Tejaswini-Valiyaparamba Backwaters of Kasargod district is just 20 km from Bekal fort and is one of the most scenic backwater stretches in Kerala. This backwater is fed by four rivers and dotted with numerous little Islands, this much favoured destination offers enchanting boat cruises.

Kanwatheratha Beach: This beach is 3kms. from Manjeeswaram the main attraction is that there is a large swimming pool like formation of the Sea.

Possadi Gumpe: This place is 15kms. from Bekal and is an ideal picnic spot located on a hillock 1060ft. above Sea level.

Kanhangad/Hosdurg: Renowned for its cahin of forts built by Somashekkara Nayak of Ikkeri Dynasty another popular landmark here is the Nithyananadashram an internationally famed spiritual centre. The place is just 15kms. away from south of Bekal.

Cheruvathur: The ruins of a Dutch Fort built in the 18th century can be sighted at the Veeramal Hills.

Kottancherry: This place is 30kms from Kanhangad lying close to the Cauvery this idyllic spotis a favorite with Nature loversand Eco Tourists. The nearby Village of Konnakkad with its rain forest and verdant surroundings is ideal for trekking.

Ranipuram: Ranipuram a bio-diversity hotspot lies on the Kerala-Karnataka border it was previously known as Madathumala. Though Ranipuram is in Kerala but its extensive forests merge with those of nearby state Karnataka. Ranipuram is blessed with cool climate all along the year and offers some interesting trekking trails for enthusiasts. An uphill as well as downhill climb can be done at Ranipuram. There is a soft trek to the hilltop, from where you can get a panoramic view of the hills around. This involves both a trek through forest as well as through hill. The track is well laid out with steps in certain places making the journey easier. If you start early morning then by evening you can come back.

Tulur vanam: Tulur Vanam is also known as Kekulom (the eastern place), Tulur vanam is four kms. east of Panathur. The temple here is consecrated to Kshetrapalan and Bhagavathi. The eight day annual festival commencing from Sivarathri, attracts large crowds from all over the district, as well as from Coorg.

Pandiyan Kallu: This is a rock that rises in the sea about 2 km from the Trikkannad Temple. Pandiyan Kallu is an ideal spot for adventurous swimmers. According to the legends, the ship of one of the Pandiya Kings who attacked the Trikkannad Temple was converted into a rock.

Nileswaram: This is the cultural centre of the district of Kasaragod and was the seat of the Nileswar Rajas. The town is also famous for its numerous shrines, temple festivals and the Kavil Bhavan Yoga and Cultural Centre which offers rejuvenation therapy and naturopathy treatments like mud baths and herbal baths.

Take a dip in the ‘natural’ swimming pool at the Kanwatheertha beach. This pool has been formed by seawater collected on the beach.

Drive down NH 17 from Kannur to Kasargod. Enjoy a fantastic view of the charming bridge set over the scenic Chandragiri River at Thekkil, with a beautiful Mosque in the backdrop.

Visit Ranipuram, 48 km east of Kanjanhad. The hilly area covered with thick forests is ideal for indulging in trekking.
